Bradenton MOAA Charter Affiliation

GOALS​

Foster communications between and mutual support among active, retired, reserve, national guard, public health service, NOAA, and former officers of the uniformed services.

Work collaboratively with other Veteran Services Organizations in Manatee County through membership in the Manatee County Veterans Council. Encourage mutual support for all who have served, are serving, and will service in the military and their families.

Outreach to MOAA National Members in Manatee County to encourage them to participate in the MOAA-Bradenton Chapter.

Participate in the Manatee County Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) that exists in the seven Manatee County High Schools. Support Battalion Rifle, Drill, Raider, and other events as mentors, supporters and with recognition by presenting the MOAA JROTC  medal to a member of the Junior Class at JROTC Awards Day. 

Provide one recipient at each of the seven High School JROTC Battalions with a college scholarship awarded at Senior Night by a Bradenton Chapter Member.

Maintain a proactive chapter personal affairs program that supports service members and their families during health and other family crises through the MOAA National Crises Relief Program.

Encourage qualified students to apply for the MOAA National Scholarship Program offering interest-free loans and grants to attend advanced education programs.

TASK

Work with and assist community organizations that support service members as well as patriotic and veteran organizations  such as American Legion, VFW,  and DAV.

Conduct fundraising events to support our JROTC scholarship program and other service members and veterans' programs.

Participate in and help conduct award ceremonies honoring local area JROTC students.

Plan and schedule social events for the chapter including inviting community speakers that keep chapter members informed about the community.
